A visual arts collaboration between Irish filmmaker Cathal Ó Cuaig and German photographer Katharina Ó Conaire. Fís | Inseacht, which roughly translates from Gaelic to English as “Vision | Telling”. This project evolved from work carried out by Cathal Ó Cuaig in collecting folkloric stories historiographies from Connemara, a rural area in the west of Ireland. A thematically broad range of stories were collected, including religious stories, ghost stories, stories of living memory, comedic stories and superstitions. The project opened in Carna in 2012 and has been exhibited at the Galway Fringe Festival and in Berlin. The project was originally made possible with help from Ealaín na Gaeltachta and Galway County Council. Glór na nGael enabled it to be exhibited in Berlin.
